I wrote this song in 2024 after my best friend of six years and I parted ways. It was the first time I experienced true heartbreak, and writing this song was my way of coping with the pain. Two years later, I stripped away the harsher language to make it more universal. Surely, I’m not the only one who has felt this way after a friendship breakup. What matters most is what we do with those feelings afterward. Today, I feel zero resentment toward this person, which is why the timing felt right to finally release this track. I am thankful for everything I learned during our friendship and while I hope no one has to go through this kind of heartbreak, I hope this song offers some comfort if you do.
